Connect AI Assistants with MCP

Easy Blog Networks has a hosted Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or any other AI assistant that supports MCP to it once and the assistant can list your blogs and write, edit and manage posts, pages, media, categories, tags and site settings on all of them. One connection covers every blog on your account and nothing is installed on the blogs.

Set it up

Go to Settings, Account and scroll down to AI assistants. The section shows a ready-made snippet for each client with your credentials already filled in. Copy the one for the tool you use:

  • Claude Code: run the claude mcp add    command in a terminal.
  • Cursor: paste the JSON into the mcp.json    file in Cursor's MCP settings.
  • Claude Desktop: paste the JSON into claude_desktop_config.json    (Settings, Developer, Edit Config). Claude Desktop reaches remote servers through the mcp-remote    bridge, so Node.js has to be installed.

Restart the assistant and ask it to list your blogs. If it answers with your domains, you are connected.

The snippets contain your API key. Regenerating the API key on the Settings page invalidates them, so set the assistant up again afterwards. A Collaborator API key works the same way and only gives the assistant the networks that key can see.

For other clients, the server address is https://app.easyblognetworks.com/mcp/    (Streamable HTTP). Authenticate with an Authorization: Basic    header holding your EBN login email and API key, encoded like for the EBN API.

Enable the REST API on your blogs

The assistant edits content through each blog's WordPress REST API, using an application password that EBN keeps for you. A blog needs that password before the assistant can touch its content. Open the blog in the EBN app and click Enable REST API, or ask the assistant to do it: it has an enable_rest_api    tool and the blog is ready about a minute later. Blogs that are not online yet cannot be edited.

What the assistant can do

  • List your networks and blogs, and see a blog's state, HTTPS, DNS, stats, health score and last backup.
  • List, read, create and update posts and pages. New posts and pages are saved as drafts unless you ask to publish them.
  • List the media library and upload images from a public URL or a local file.
  • List and create categories and tags.
  • Read and change site settings such as the title, tagline, timezone, date format, language and front page.
  • Add a new blog to one of your networks, and schedule a blog for deletion. Deletion happens 24 hours later and can be cancelled on the blog page until then. Both need your own API key, not a collaborator key.

There is no theme or plugin management. Page-builder layouts (Elementor and similar) cannot be edited this way; this is about content and settings.

Good to know

  • Every change an assistant makes is recorded in your account's activity log, so you can always see what it did and on which blog.
  • An account can make 60 tool calls per minute. A fast-running assistant will be asked to wait and retry.
  • When a blog is unreachable, has its REST API disabled or has a plugin blocking the REST API, the assistant gets an error that names the blog and says what to fix.

Connecting claude.ai or ChatGPT directly is not possible yet, because those need an OAuth login instead of an API key. Let us know if you need it.
